At Volcanic Earthworks, Phil brings years of hands‑on experience working with Rotorua and Taupō’s unique volcanic soils, ensuring every site is prepared correctly from day one.

What we do

  • We remove vegetation, topsoil, and debris to expose a clean, workable surface. This includes clearing trees, scrub, old garden areas, and any obstacles that may affect the build.

  • Phil reshapes the land to the required levels, cutting high areas and filling low spots to create a stable, even platform. This ensures your site meets the exact specifications of your builder or engineer.

  • We build and compact foundation pads for homes, sheds, garages, and other structures. Every platform is graded, levelled, and compacted to meet engineering requirements and support long‑term stability.

  • Proper compaction prevents future sinking, cracking, or movement. Phil uses the right equipment and methods to achieve a firm, even subgrade ready for construction.

  • Good drainage is essential for a long‑lasting build. We shape the site to ensure water flows away from structures and can install basic drainage solutions where required.

  • Topsoil can be stockpiled for later use, and excess material can be removed from site. We keep things tidy and efficient so your project stays on track.
